Can anyone advice me of a good software to use to creat my family tree?

I´m using PAF (Personal ancestral file)

It´s good and free

Can get here:http://www.familysearch.org/eng/paf/

Good morning, Maria,

There are several computer software programs on the market for collecting,
formatting, and generating reports pertaining to family history. The one
that I use is Family Tree Maker. I have used it for 3 years; and have been
satisfied. Also, I have an Ancestry.com subscription that interfaces with
FTM. I hope this helps you in your buying decision. Good luck.

Best wishes,

Paul Gomez

Hi Maria:

I have used "Legacy" for many years and found it very easy to use and very
practical. I 've heard people refer to it as the Cadillac of family trees
software. The best part of it is that it is FREE. Just go to Legacy.com
and download it from there. They have a more sophisticated version but
there is a charge for it.

When I first started doing my family search I used the Mormon's Church
software, but after using Legacy I never looked back and be using it ever
since.

Try it, I think you'll like it.

Hello Mr. Gonzalez:

I new to "Nuestros Ranchos" and have been getting Maria Cortes link. I
don't know how this happened. I don't know how to navigate in the website
that well yet. My father's last name was Gomez Gonzalez. My maiden name
was Mercedes Gomez Villalobos. I posted my introduction a few days ago. My
paternal grandmother was Joaquina Gonzalez born around 1874 in Encarnacion
de Diaz. She married my grandfather Francisco Gomez Martinez. . I don't
have too much on my father's side, but a have found a lot on my mother's
Villalobos Aguilera side. The surnames I've researched are: Gomez
Martinez, Gomez Gonzalez, Gonzalez Jimenez, Diaz, Quesada, Lopez, Ocegueda,
and the list keeps getting longer. The places are Teocaltiche, Canadas,
Encarnacion de Dias, Guanajuato, Irapuato, Sacatecas. I've gone back to
1668 on my mother's side, but am kind of lost on my father's side.

If you have any links to the Gonzalez Jimenez or Gomez Gonzalez, please let
me know. Thanks and I was looking for a program to do my genealogy chart,
so THANK YOU SO MUCH for the time on the program you use. Since I'm a
beginner, I really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Sincerely,
Mercedes Gomez Villalobos

Mercedes Gomez Villalobos.

Hola Mercedes:

My Gonzalez ancestry is mostly from the Jalostotitlán, Jalisco area which
includes, Santa Ana, San Juan de Los Lagos, Teocaltiche, and Lagos de
Moreno. I have yet to find any Gonzalez de Hermosillo, outside this areas,
that are from my paternal side of the family. Originally the name was
Gonzalez de Hermosillo but it was shortened to just Gonzalez. There are a
number of Gonzalez lines, starting with Gonzalez, Gonzalez de Hermosillo,
Gonzalez de Ruvalcaba, Gonzalez de Laris, Gonzalez del Castillo,
Gonzalez-Rubio, and Gonzalez de San Roman. There are quite a few Gonzalez's
out there.

My wife is from Teocaltiche and her father's Martinez line came from Cañadas
de Obregon. I started researching his line and found out that the Martinez
were Martin, which had evolved from Martin del Campo.

It looks like you have accomplished quite a bit already. I suggest that you
concentrate on one line at a time, follow it until you hit a brickwall, then
start on the next line. If you try to follow all your lines at once you
might overwhelmed, lost, and confused. This strategy has worked for me and
it might work for you too. You might want to start with your father's
paternal line, followed by his maternal line.

Good luck.

Thank you John.
It's interesting you mention the Gonzalez Hermosillo name. You know on my
mother's side I have a 5th grade grandmother named Maria Gonzalez Hermosillo
(early 1700's)married to Bartholome Villalobos d.1769 (he was the son of my
4th grade grandfather, Fernando Villalobos ) . But like you said there's
quite a few Gonzalez out there. Anyway, thanks for your tips on how to
research. It's a great idea and I will incorporate it into my process.
Many thanks again,
MGV-Temecula

Hi Rick:

Yes, my grandfather was from El Cuadrado, just South of Jalos, my
ggrandfather was from Los Portales, just about 2 miles South of Jalos. My
next 3 grandfathers were from Santa Ana and the rest of them were from
Jalos. I am Santo Toribio's third cousin, once removed.

I believe you are from the L.A. area, we should get together to compare
notes...
