Ancestors who were priests
Hello everybody!
I have a huge question haunting me: How can you know that an ancestor was a priest? Is there registry where I can find this information, or is it only through burial/death records?
Thanks in advance! :)

You can look for their “ordenes.” If he lived in Nueva Galicia, those can be found in the archives for the Diócesis de Guadalajara. These are the un-indexed records:

The diocesan archives are your best bet, I think, for finding information on ancestors who were clergy.
Maybe you will get lucky and find them in this booklet of lists of clergyman in the diocese of Valladolid, Nueva España (Morelia). Based on the appearance of a clergyman I have identified on the list, it is from the mid to late 1700's.

The lists contained in the booklet:
Thank you so much! Yes, he was born in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, and I understand this Parroquia is still part of Diócesis de Guadalajara... He was born in 1877, but I cannot find any burial record, nor death record, nor marriage record... I think it would've been possible for him to be a priest, but I didn't know where to look.
I am definitely going to check these documents, thank you both so very much!
