Hello

I am looking for information on my Diaz line. It goes back to Teocaltiche. I am stuck on Santiago Diaz and Juana Villalobos. Does anybody have a similar tree that could help me go farther back?

There are two couples by this name in Theocaltiche in the 1700's. One of them was baptizing their children in the very early 1700's and the other in the mid 1750's. You would have to provide more information in order to know which couple is the one you are researching.

Thanks,
Rick A. Ricci

I am trying to continue the line from Santiago and Juana De Villalobos

I don't have the ancestry of Santiago Diaz and Juana Villalobos, but I do have a couple of threads that may lead to more information.

I found a Juana Villalobos (Juana Villalobos Tovar) that is a possibility. Here is her record:

Thank you. I am going to begin researching this name and see what comes up.

Here is another thread.

Diego and Santiago are cognates. In the 1600's and 1700's, some families used the names interchangeably for the same person. In other families, the two names were never used interchangeably. This next record should be studied to see if it can provide more information into your research of the earlier Santiago Diaz and Juana de Villalobos.

Spouse's Name Juana De Villalobos

Good luck,

I found the matrimoni information of their child Domingo but I can not read much spanish. I can only under stand basic words and dates.

Just curious if your Diaz line extends to Durango. My mothers family is from Presidios/Tepehuanes and I often wonder if I might someday trace back to Zacatecas, where my fathers family is from.

You can check to see if any of the Diaz in your line migrated from Teocaltiche, Jalisco Mexico to Durango.

When I was researching my Diaz de Leon ancestry from Los Altos de Jalisco I discovered that one of the lines had left Zacatecas and traveled to Durango The line was originally from Aguascalientes. This line that went to Durango branched off and left some descendants there as others moved back to Zacatecas. One of the things that I remember about this line was that I had trouble putting it together until I found a document that explained that five children had been born before the parents legally married. It turned out that I didn’t descend from this line.
