Hi Everyone

There is one word I cannot read in a baptism entry:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-K79Y-YV?i=398&wc=3JD4-829%3A171936601%2C171934502%2C171963901&cc=1874591

In the entry for Joseph Miguel, mulato esclabo:

What is the first word in line 8, just before “de Petra…”?

I need to know for sure if it identifies Petra as the mother of Jose Miguel. If so, I can try to follow her line.

Very exciting! first historical documentation of African genes!

Regards
Denise

Or "espurio" means "illegitimate." So, yes, he is the son of Petra de Altamira Mulata Esclava and an unknown father.

Saludos!

Hi Manny

Thanks for taking the time to look at the doc! I would never have gotten that information without your help, as some of the letters were hard for me to read! Now I can go further with Petra de Altamira.

Best Regards,
Denise
