Many in the group have already complied, but many have not. If you've
already submitted your genealogy just relax. . .you're a life member of
the Nuestros Ranchos group.

For those that haven't submitted their work I get a little nervous when
it comes time to remove members from the list. I wish everyone would
just buckle down and send in their representative genealogies showing
their connection to Jalisco, Zacatecas, and/or Aguascalientes.

This is the second to the last notice I'm going to send out. I'll
probably send out the last notice right after the new year. Then
suddenly on 01 Feb 2007 the group should show 30-50 less members. Please
don't let this be you. On that day or shortly thereafter I will be
deleting the memberships of all who have not done
one of the following things:

1) emailed moderator@nuestrosranchos.com with a request for the specific
amount of time you'll need beyond 31 Jan 2007 to submit your genealogy*.

*Note you might be a new researcher with very little or nothing to
submit. In this case you'll be able to meet this requirement by sending
in a short account of your family's "Oral History" relating your roots
to Jalisco, Zacatecas, and/or Aguascalientes.

2) send moderator@nuestrosranchos.com an email with your
"representative" tree showing your connection to Jalisco, Zacatecas,
and/or Aguascalientes. [Note: not your gedcom is not required, or every
document you ever discovered or your whole life's genealogical work,
just a simple "representative" tree showing your connection to our area
of research]

Please don't wait until the last minute. Email me soon so we can start
making up your folder in the private to members only area of the group.

exclusivamente a "solo miembros".*

yes you can and later if you want to update your folder that is
definitely possible. here are instructions on how to make a report from
family tree maker. Most important thing is not to include individuals
that are living both for privacy and security reasons. After you make up
the report send it to me in an email and I'll make up a private folder
for your. Here are those instructions:

okay here is how to do it.

1) First go to the oldest individual.

2) Then go to "View" and

3) then to "Genealogy Report"

4) then go to "Contents" and

5) "Number of generations to show" and pick a number that does not show
any living relatives. Probably around your grandparents. After the
report is exactly like you want it

6) then go to "File" and

7) down to "Export Genealogy report" pick the option for .rtf and save
it someplace with the name of that oldest relative and the date.

8) attach it to an email and send it to moderator@nuestrosranchos.com
with the following information:

a) Your full name
b) Your Nuestros Ranchos User Name
c) Your Nuestros Ranchos Subscription email address
d) the name of this report (maybe the name of the oldest two individuals
or just the surnames)
e) the geographical area you are researching: Specific Ranchos and the
Larger Town/Cabezera for the specific Ranchos.

I'm not sure if I've done this right. Is there
something I need to do to get less reports? Thanks=)
By the way, the family research i'm doing is for my
husband's family, his name is J. Gabriel Jimenez
Castillo.

John, can you translate this and send it back to the group right away if
you get a chance:

Sorry but I need to say this. A few days ago I went through and did my
final survey of who was going to be unsubscribed on 1 Feb 2007, but then
yesterday I noticed that some have gone in and submitted genealogies
into the "files" --> "members genealogies" Area of the group AND not
said anything about it to the group OR informed me.

If I sent you an email saying you are need to submit your genealogy
before 31 Jan 2007 AND you submitted your work into the "files" area AND
you didn't tell me. . .well don't be surprised if you get unsubscribed
anyway. Communication is king around her and you need to say something.
I can't keep track of all people and folders and everything that I'm
doing outside the group without good communication.

If you are one of those people I'd send an email to me ASAP:
NR@JosephPuentes.com or you might have to go through the process all
over again (mind you it is easy enough).
